Dr
Janet Hall is considered one of the most experienced sex therapists
in Australia. She was the invited whole-day workshop presenter for
the Australian Society of Hypnosis National Conference in Tasmania
in 2002 with the topic: SexCraft – How Hypnosis Helps with
Sex-Therapy. Jan has developed an eclectic style of psychological practice based
on over 25 years of study and practice which has included neuropsychology
and ability assessment, cognitive-behaviour therapy, hypnotherapy,
and humanistic psychology (including psychodrama and rebirthing). Jan is a registered clinical psychologist and a full member of the
Australian Psychological Society and Victorian Psychological Board.
Simon Candlish
Simon has six years experience as a registered Psychologist. He has completed his Masters in Counseling Psychology. Simon has experience working with depression and anxiety and relationship issues including domestic abuse and sexual difficulties. Simon has extensive training in the use of cognitive behavioral techniques and has received academic and professional training in cognitive behavioral therapy including rational emotive behavioural therapy. He adopts an interpersonal approach to client issues emphasizing personal growth and insight and focuses on solutions and strengths to assist clients to improve and grow. Simon has a strong interest in relationships/couples counseling. He is experienced in dealing with a range of sexual issues including sexual dysfunction and sexual dissatisfaction and is passionate about individuals achieving new levels of sexual satisfaction and fulfilling their own sexual potential beyond 'good enough' sexual functioning. He currently supervises other psychologists.
Linda Carlyle
Lynda Carlyle has been working in sexual health for 7 years; initially as a registered nurse, and then as a sex and relationship therapist. She achieved a Master of Health Science (Sexual Health), which she completed through the University of Sydney in 2006. Based in Melbourne, Lynda is President of the Victorian branch of ASSERT, (Australian Society of Sexuality Educators, Researchers & Therapists) and Vice President of ASSERT National. She is keenly involved in peer supervision and mentoring. Lynda is proudly associated with Sassy Vibes as their resident sexologist and contributes sexuality related articles for their newsletters. Lynda has expansive clinical skills and knowledge in areas pertaining to sexual functioning and interpersonal influences. She has an eclectic style, favouring a holistic, strengths based, solution - focused approach. She helps couples and singles looking for ways to create a more positive, healthy sexuality.
Vikki Prior
Vikki is a Provisional Psychologist and accredited Sex and Relationship Therapist (member ASSERT*). She specialises in the treatment of anxiety and related disorders, including panic attacks, generalised anxiety, anger management, sexual dysfunctions, and addictions. Vikki's focus at the clinic is applying Cognitive-Behavioural and Psychodynamic therapies to assist individuals to overcome addiction to Internet, Chatrooms, etc., and to restore damaged relationships. Vikki also enjoys assisting people attain the motivation and skills required to move forward in life and achieve their personal and professional goals.
Kylie Jeffery
Kylie Jeffery is a Masters trained clinical psychologist and mother of three.Kylie's professional practice and training has been focussed in couples and individual therapy including sexual concerns and disorders, depression and anxiety and clients who have difficulty finding or maintaining committed relationships. Early in her career she held a position at the Department of Human Services as part of the child protection team, this experience motivated her to become more involved in the clinical interventions for families. Her special interests include post separation and divorce parenting plans and post and antenatal depression.
Costs
Charges can be discussed by telephone. Contact us on: 03 9419 3010. Medicare rebates are available. At the first consultation you will receive a free audio recording (rec. retail usually $33.00) from the Dr Janet Hall collection.
Please note: A rebate is available to you if you are covered for psychology under a private health fund scheme. (We suggest that you check with your health fund to confirm your eligibility).
Some folk may be eligible for a lower rate per hour if they are in special circumstances (ie. the Workcare rate).
Sessions usually last 50 minutes and are scheduled weekly at first, and then fortnightly.
Two-hour or half-hour sessions pro rata are available.
Instant Solution Phone Calls are available: $50.00 for 20 minutes prepaid.
Hours
Appointments are available six days a week by arrangement.
Hours are 10am until 6.30pm.
Saturday times and late times are usually heavily booked.
An early time (8am) or late time (7.30pm) may be booked for an extra $25.00.
Appointment Cancellation
We request that you agree to give us the courtesy of 48 hours notice of any intention to change or cancel an appointment. The consultants' times are heavily booked and other clients waiting on stand-by can be called if you cannot attend.
A cancellation fee will be charged if this courtesy is not extended. If one partner cannot attend, the other needs to still attend to avoid incurring this fee. If you have a Saturday appointment, cancellation notice is required by close of business on the Wednesday prior to booking date.
Accounting Terms
Thank you for understanding that we do require payment at the time of consultation.
Clients who fail to do so will incur a $5.00 administration fee. We accept payment with cash, cheque, Visa, Bankcard, Mastercard and have EFTPOS facilities for your convenience. Credit card payments may be made over the phone.
